At the end of July, I was to travel to Germany, and, to be honest, I wanted to make the trip as budget as possible. Therefore, I began to consider various options and ways to implement this item in May. A very sensible decision, I will say without modesty, because I spent only 3,200 rubles for a trip from St. Petersburg to Berlin. How is that even possible ?!
So, I chose the tickets on the website of the company Lux Express, which is engaged in bus transportation throughout the Baltic States and Europe. The interface of the site is clear to everyone, it does not cause any difficulties when searching and booking. Just enter destinations “from” and “to” and you get all possible options, choose the flight that is suitable for the time and price, book and are ready. By the way, it is very convenient to choose places, since the site has its layout. Important note: the earlier you plan your trip, the more profitable the offers will be and the more options of places.
I was pleased with the discount system since I am not yet 26, I entered the “youth and students” category, which gave me a bonus in the form of a reduction in the price of tickets. Very nice such a bonus, you see. There are also discounts for senior citizens and children.
The system picked me up a connecting route from St. Petersburg to Berlin in the form of three tickets. SPb-Riga, Riga-Vilnius, Vilnius-Berlin. Docking time at each station from 2 to 4 hours, which is enough to find the right platform, eat and relax.
Now about the bus companies themselves. Maybe for some, it will not be fiction, but as a “pioneer of bus travel,” I was pleasantly surprised that there are sockets for charging equipment for each seat, free wi-fi, and a coffee machine. Drivers give each passenger drinking water. The seats are comfortable, laid out almost to a horizontal state, it is quite possible to sleep, believe me, I spent two nights in them. Before each passenger there is a mini-screen on which you can watch movies in Russian or English, play games, surf the Internet, see how many kilometers are left to the next destination (this was my favorite entertainment).eEaMMqZbJeg
Service is up to par, drivers welcome passengers in three languages: Lithuanian, Russian, English. Arrive at every point exactly on the time specified in the ticket. Very quickly and without conflicts, they solve minor difficulties with the distribution of places.
Another subjective advantage for me was that you can see so many interesting things along the way, the picture outside the window is constantly changing. This wonderful Latvian houses, and storks in the fields, and sunset in Poland, and the morning with the ducks at the train station in Riga.storks
After this trip, I realized that traveling by buses is not scary, but on the contrary, it’s beneficial, comfortable and exciting if you have some free time that you can spend on the road.
